May 25, 2011 C.U.P. Meeting Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Skype connection was made for the presentation by Peter Robbins.\u00a0 Maryann Hawk did a brief introduction of Peter to the audience.\u00a0 He spoke at C.U.P. about 25 years ago and re-connected with some of the members last October at a Mufon meeting inPittsburgh.<\/p>\n

This evening\u2019s talk was based on the book, Left at East Gate<\/span>, which he co-authored with Larry Warren. On a separate screen was a slide show which Peter narrated and told Aaron to move to the next slide number as he spoke.\u00a0 It took 9 \u2013 10 years to get the book written and published.\u00a0 The first news of the event did not surface until October of 1983.<\/p>\n

Peter described Larry Warren as a whistle blower personality and a very dedicated American and military man.<\/p>\n

The story is of a three night event in December 1980 inSuffolk, in South East England, where Larry was stationed at the time. There were two bases, RAF Bentwaters and RAF Woodbridge about 6 miles apart, and about 7 miles from theNorth Sea.<\/p>\n

On the first night, two law enforcement policemen, Jim and John, saw lights and drove out to the site of the crash in a jeep, where they came to a vehicle, seven to nine feet long, floating \u2013 of black glass on a tri pod.\u00a0 There was some text on its side.\u00a0 Jim copied the text into a notebook, then he touched the vehicle and it began to vibrate.\u00a0 He went into stance and aimed a gun, then thought better of it and re-holstered the gun and jumped onto the craft and it took off and a few seconds later he jumped off and in an instant the vehicle flew away.\u00a0 Jim and John have both had memory lapses since that night.\u00a0 The canopy of the trees had been clipped off by machines of several tons in weight.<\/p>\n

There are a number of websites on the internet with more details, attributed to Linda Moulton Howe and Colonel Charles Halt and others.<\/p>\n

Initially Colonel Charles Halt felt that the first night\u2019s incident was nonsense since it was holiday party season.\u00a0 But the second night someone told him, \u201cThey\u2019re back.\u201d\u00a0 There were sightings of lights, animals in agitation and animals amassed in the town square, which had never happened before.<\/p>\n

A press release dated June 25, 2009, was released on the internet and contained this startling quote by retired USAF Lt. Col. Charles I. Halt:<\/p>\n

\u201cI wish to make it perfectly clear that the UFOs that I saw were structured machines moving under intelligent control and operating beyond the realm of anything I have ever seen before or since. I believe the objects that I saw at close quarter were extraterrestrial in origin and that the security services of both the United States and England were and have been complicit in trying to subvert the significance of what occurred at Rendlesham by use of well-practiced methods of disinformation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Peter Robbins, went on to describe some of the amazing aircraft the U.S.had in service since the Eisenhower days, including the U2 spy plane and the SR71 also known as the Blackbird.\u00a0 To get pictures and lengthy details about these and other aircraft in our service, I would recommend the book, Skunk Works<\/span> by Ben Rich, who was Kelly Johnson\u2019s personal choice to take over Skunk Works when he retired.<\/p>\n

The base at Bentwaters became a ghost town, is now a park open to the public, complete with little icons of the \u201cgreys\u201d on markers along the UFO trail.\u00a0 He concluded his talk saying this story is not over by a long shot.<\/p>\n

As an aside, answering an inquiry from Sharon, he said that Bud Hopkins is very sick having some good and some bad days, is in good spirits and is as well as can be expected, for his condition.<\/p>\n
